Projects

Baldwin Iron Removal Facility
Baldwin Iron Removal Facility

The Liberty team is constructing a new facility to remove iron from the water we deliver to customers. While iron does not impact health, it can cause slight water discoloration. Once operational, the new facility will allow our customers in the Baldwin area to seeeven clearer water, whether they’re drinking tap water or taking a shower. Customers will also experience more consistent pressure and increased service reliability.

Water service improvement for Village of Malverne

Our crews completed a project in the Village of Malverne that included replacing 1,100 feet of aging water mains, chlorination, water quality sampling, and the replacement of service lines to homes on Coolidge, Walker, Home, and Clinton Streets. This not only allows for better water flow for our customers, but also reduces the potential for discolored water and improves water pressure and fire service capabilities for the area. This means customers in the Village of Malverne will have the quality, reliable water service they expect for the everyday moments and increased protection in the event of an emergency.

New PFOA/PFOS treatment facility
New PFOA/PFOS treatment facility

The Liberty team is taking extra steps to provide safe water to customers with a PFOA/PFOS treatment facility. PFOA and PFOS are released into the environment from commercial and industrial sources, like non-stick cookware, food packaging, cleaning agents, and many other commonly used products. The treatment facility prevents these contaminants from entering the water supply so our customers have the quality water service they depend on that is safe to drink, cook with, and bathe in.
